Wow, that was some heat, right? July 2018 was full of sunshine, summer smiles, and brought with it some amazing events, treatments and new products in Skinfull Affairs. From the Beaut.ie Awards nominating some of the amazing products we stock in-store, to the success of our fun and uplifting Vintage Up-Style event, here are the highlights of the last month at Skinfull Affairs.
We were so excited to introduce the people of Dublin to French all-natural brand, La Canopée. The brand’s creators initially set out to create a cosmetic brand that was 100% natural, full of active ingredients, and free from petrochemicals and preservatives. The range includes various skincare products for all skin types, and also includes some gorgeous shower gels and travel kits.
To celebrate the launch of La Canopée in-store, we invited in Lauren from Buttercream Dream, one of Dublin’s leading vegan bakeries. Lauren offered four different types of vegan cupcakes, gluten-free and nut-free options, and their limited edition Peanut Butter & Cookie Brownies.
Mojito Manicure & Pedicure
This July, our exclusive mani-pedi deal was a refreshing and summer Mojito treatment. Customers enjoyed a truly relaxing experience with our fantastic therapists, who delivered 5-Star rating results. Our Mojito manicures and Pedicures are still on the menu!
For August, we are launching a brand new Lemongrass Mani/Pedi for €60 as an intro offer!
On the 28th of July we invited Linda Conway, the founder of Stiall, into the store to host a pop-up shop event! Stiall is an ethical & sustainable clothing online store, which focuses on helping consumers make informed decisions when it comes to fashion.
Stiall provides consumers with honest and reliable information on both the social and environmental policies of fashion brands. The store’s name, ‘Stiall’, is the Irish word for ‘strip’; the name was chosen with the intention of the business to strip away stigma associated with sustainable and ethical fashion.
The pop-up shop was a great way for our customers to experience a fashion brand with the same, ethical ethos as Skinfull Affairs, and it was great to be able to show our customers that fashion can be ethically sourced as well as beauty products.
Whether you are a makeup artist or a makeup lover, there has probably been a time when you have wished there was an extremely easy and effortless way to clean your makeup brushes. Well, now there is!
We have been so excited to welcome MuMe, the all-natural, vegan, and cruelty-free solid brush cleaner into the store. MuMe was created by makeup artist and beauty teacher, Emma Hyland. Hyland’s students desired a makeup brush cleaner that didn’t spill in their makeup kits, and that didn’t damage their brushes; hence, MuMe was born.
The product is so easy to use- simply wet the solid brush cleaner with warm water, swirl your brush around until it is nice and soapy, and then rinse. Leave to air dry over night.
MuMe is hand-made in Co. Wicklow and is free of harsh chemicals. The ingredients are 100% natural, cruelty-free and vegan, and the packaging is eco-friendly.
Another exciting cosmetic range arrival into Skinfull Affairs this month was Pinks Boutique. This organic range provides professional skincare products of extremely high standards. Inspired by the beautiful natural qualities of Asia, Pinks Boutique uses only 100% natural, organic ingredients in their formulas, so that every ingredient benefits your skin. We absolutely love the the brand’s ethos, as Pinks Boutique is cruelty-free, vegan, free from toxins, made from biodegradable and sustainable ingredients, and the brand’s packaging is also recyclable.
Yon-Ka Skincare Event at Skinfull Affairs
We love having Yon-Ka skincare events at Skinfull Affairs, as they are a great way to introduce our clients to the amazing Yon-Ka range. On the 31st of July, we hosted one of these events in-store; the evening included goodie bags, refreshments, exclusive offers on products in-store, and in-depth educational advice tailored to everyone’s skincare desires.
Yon-Ka is a French, cruelty-free skincare brand, which harvests the power of nature through its innovative formulas. The range is a great cruelty-free alternative to high-end skincare brands on the market.
July was especially exciting for Skinfull Affairs as several of the brands we sell in our store were nominated and short-listed for the Beaut.ie Awards 2018. Here’s what was shortlisted- the voting for each is still open!
