A season of happiness and health is upon us. Here are my top tips on how to feel your best this season – from the inside and out.
Cleanse Away Any Impurities.
Did you know that it takes 21 days to break a habit, or to start a new one? Why not try this fool-proof habit every morning? When you wake up in the morning, before you eat, have a glass of ice cold water with some lemon. Yes, this is a simple trick in the book that yogis rave about- but trust us, it actually makes the world of a difference. The cold water wakes up your body on the inside, which boosts your metabolism and digestive system for when you have your breakfast. It also rehydrates you after a night of sleep, improves your energy levels and helps your body to get detoxing! Add some ginger, mint, cucumber and other citrus fruits for an invigorating energy potion.

Be Present.

Every morning, or at a time that suits you, set aside two minutes to sit, with your eyes closed. Set a timer if you like. Allow this time to encourage you to notice how your body really feels, and allow yourself to accept any feelings or stresses that you are feeling during these two minutes. Once you are done, you will be feel great that you took two minutes to notice what’s actually going on, and you will be ready to take on the day.

The Ultimate Summer Cocktail
I love experimenting with new vegan juices, smoothies and cocktails. Here is a recipe for a delicious gin cocktail that is easy to make and utterly delicious!
  • Gin of choice (I love Ireland’s brand new Míl Gin, which has notes of Olive, Rosemary, Blood Orange and Juniper)
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Pink lemonade
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Fresh thyme leaves
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Thin cucumber peelings
  • Black pepper
  1. Measure one shot of the gin and pour into a gin glass (try to avoid plastic, which is non-biodegradable!)
  2. Pour in one cup of pink lemonade
  3. Sprinkle a small amount of black pepper into the drink for a subtle, spicy kick
  4. Add the thin cucumber peelings into the glass so that they sit happily below the surface of the drink
  5. Pour in your freshly squeezed lemon juice
  6. Garnish the cocktail with mint leaves, thyme leaves and coriander for an aromatic experience
