In this humid, sunny summer weather, it’s important to take some time for yourself to recover and rejuvenate. While friends may be jumping at any opportunity to have a few cans of beer on the beach, it’s important to spend a night in where all temptations are kept at bay. Here are my favourite ways to indulge our senses during this hot weather, when we need to take some time for ourselves.
Take a Relaxing Bath (with an Iced Beverage)
Nothing screams relaxation like a cosy, fragrant bath. After a long day out in the sun, relax your tired muscles in the soothing waters of a warm bath- but not too hot. Wind Down with Yoga
Nobody wants to work out on a humid, hot day- but yoga is the perfect workout for this weather. There are many YouTube yoga workouts for different desires, but one of our favourite YouTube channels is Yoga with Adriene. Easy to follow, super relaxing, and a yoga workout for every occasion; from PMS, to flu symptoms, to relieving anxiety, there is a workout for everybody! Give Yourself a Mani/Pedi
Nothing shows your peers that you’ve got your life together more than having a perfect manicure/pedicure. Groom your hands and feet by giving your nails a file, buff, and carry out any cuticle work, if desired. Here is our favourite recipe for a stress-busting, nutrition-fuelling green smoothie.
- 1 cup of spinach
- 1/2 cup of kale
- 1 banana
- 1 handful of parsley
- 1 handful coriander
- 1 teaspoon of chopped/grated ginger
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tablespoon of spirulina powder
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- Add all of the ingredients to a blender, making sure the banana is chopped up nicely
- Blend up!
- Serve and garnish with mint (if desired)
